Renaissance Fencing

Renaissance fencing encompasses several sub-types of fencing, but overall is focused on studying and replicating fencing techniques from Europe during the Renaissance period. At TSG, this program is focused on Bolognese and Northern Italian weapon martial arts, primarily from the 16th and 17th century.

 

Curriculum: (In progress)

The Renaissance Fencing program is split into four stages: Beginner, Advanced Beginner, Intermediate, and Advanced. Each stage is formatted to teach techniques safely with goals to meet before moving onto the next stage.

Beginner: (~4-6 months long) —- Foundational movements including cuts, thrusts, and supportive footwork.

Advanced Beginner: (~4-6 months long) —- Intro
